Rider from canada needs dirtbike to rent in NZ
Hey everyone,
I'll be in NZ from Dec.7-Dec.31 2008.(in 2 weeks...yay!)
I am an excellent rider who likes to ride on/off road dirtbikes like the honda 650r or the honda crf 450's or Suzuki DR 400's or something of the like.
I am a girl, and of average size so weight is an issue which is one reason i like the smaller CC bikes.
Does anyone out there know of a friend or company who would rent me a dirtbike for the month of december?
I'm cruising solo so if any one is interested in hooking up for a trek somewhere that would be great!
thanks,
Anna

i have an XT600 and am used to riding them, thought they do weigh a ton.
I am still trying to find a bike thats not SOOO expensive. i want to rent for 3 weeks and at 100 plus dollars a day, i mean you could buy a used bike for that...You dont have an old bike in the garage you want to rent do you?

No spare bikes in my shed sorry, a cheap option might be to do a buyback deal on something basic, search the NZ dealers & have a look on the NZ auction site trademe.co.nz best of luck with your trip.
Cheers

NZ bike rental
Try MACH 1 yamaha in New Plymouth (Taranaki region).I was out in Jan and rode a wr250 yamaha in the backcountry.Fantastic experience and well worth the money. You need a butt made of iron though,Yamaha sold these things with a plank for a seat.Contact Warrick for more info.Watch out for their cops though, these guys take no prisoners if you speed, and the fines are steep!-otherwise NZ has some of the best riding I have ever seen for a small bike, brilliant.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
