Europe insurance
I'm riding a South African Registered 1150GS and will be traveling through Iran, Turkey, Italy, France and UK soon.
I'm currently in UAE, where 3rd party insurance is required for all vechiles, but almost nobody want to help you getting it.
I'm sure I would need 3rd party insurance for the countries I intend to travel through. Where do I get it?

Any idea about UK insurance?
I've send off a request to Knopf, cost is about Euro50, but it does not cover UK.

Are you sure JC? I have taken 6 month's European green card insurance through Knopf tours, as I have an American registered motorcycle here in the UK, that I will also be using though mainland Europe this summer...
It's true you can't get insurance in the UK unless the machine is registered here, but you shouldn't have any problem getting it from mainland Europe (that will also include cover for UK/all EU member states) - either Knopf tours (admittedly the expensive, if straight forward way) or ADAC if you can get an answer from them...

It does cover the UK but it's listed as GB on Stefan's site. Perhaps because Germans tend to refer to the UK as Großbritannien so maybe you didn't notice it in the list.

Yes, it does cover UK, and cost Euro55 for 30 days.
So Europe, here we come!

If you deal directly with Arisa (who Knopf goes through) you can get it for 22€/month as I did. And GB is covered.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
