Grant & Susan's Europe Ride
We're very pleased to tell you that we will be in France, Germany, Switzerland, UK and Spain this summer, and we hope to catch up with old friends and see many of you there!
Where will we be when?
23-25 May - We will be flying from Canada to France to attend the Touratech France Travel Event in Orange, and hosting an HU France Mini-meet there.
29 May-1 June - We are borrowing a bike from Touratech and riding from France to Ober-Liebersbach for the HU Germany meeting.
6 June - We will present '4 Easy Steps to Motorcycle Travel' in Switzerland at Touratech Switzerland.
13-15 June - We will be in Niedereschach for the Touratech Germany Travel Event.
19-22 June - We'll ride from Germany to Donington in the UK for our biggest event, HUBB UK. Maybe some of you can ride with us!
27 June - We will present '4 Easy Steps to Motorcycle Travel' in Barcelona at Touratech in Barcelona Spain.
4-6 July - Finally, we will be in Garmisch for the BMW Motorrad Days, before returning to Canada!
We are very excited about it all, especially Grant since he has not ridden a bike for three years!
Hope to see you soon, somewhere in Europe...

That's a long withdrawal!
Please take it easy as you adjust to the 'motorcycle invisibility' that we get on bikes. Particular hard to adjust to after a long period off the bike and driving cars.
Have a great trip.

we may see you on the road
Hi Grant and Susan,
Look for us in the Vancouver airport on the 23. We fly out then too.
Pick up our bike the 26 and will be in Geneva the 28.
Will pass by the Germany hu location but can't make it since we have a weekend ferry to catch in Italy.

Hi Susan and Grant,
I dont know where in Switzerland you are going to be, and I also dont know where the Touratech shops are, but you are welcome to stay at my place in Bern - Weissenbühl - near the city center - in the beginning of June. Just send me an email.
Greetings from Bolivia

Hi Susan and Grant,
If you can post your draft itinerary of Germany to UK, would be a pleasure to meet you when you get into the UK and ride along with you to the HUBB UK event.
Ride Safe

Good on you Grant & Susan! You both deserve to do this trip after all you've been through in the last few years. I'm sure you'll have lots of fun. I hope to see you at the HUBB UK in June or perhaps on my journey up there from Kent?

Lovely Ride
Such a great trip to be part of, and I would have loved to ride with you guys, especially after Grant's health scare; unfortunately I'll be out of Europe.
Have fun, ride safe and enjoy yourselves, I know you'll have a ball.

And so it begins.
Well it's been quite a day, but Grant & Susan were warmly welcomed today by me and the Touratech team. After a long flight and not feeling 100% with some sniffs and a slight cold, they braved a few hours at the site and brought along some flyers, stands and a new banner. I 've even had a sneak preview of next years calendar, ( but you won't tell anyone will you!). Our little space looked great and we were soon talking to some locals.
At the end of the day they were officially presented with a 1200 GS by TT for their European tour, but we were lucky enough to have it by our stand all day, with the excellent company of Anne Girardin's Alaska to Ushuaia 650 GS.
It was to to greet Hubbers, Tinoo; Calvin from Alberta; and Phil in France, just starting out on his Balkan raid

We're in a little tiny town called Kappel, a few kilometers from Niedereschach, getting organised and prepared for the Tourach Travel Event this weekend - they're expecting 10,000 people, so we should have a good crowd for our featured talks, one every day! the tricky part of course is language - we'll be doing it in English, in Germany...
After that, we ride to the UK on Tuesday so we can be at the HUBB UK, our biggest event of the year. Thankfully it's MUCH smaller than the TT event! For the ride, you can join us! See the Facebook event information here.
Hope to see you somewhere along the way

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
