640 Adventure Sidestand

KTM 640 Adventure R 2006 model: Is it possible to fit the sidestand available from KTM at the same time as the Mainstand fitted from the factory?

Dual Star sidestand

I'm not sure about the factory sidestand. The sidestand at www.dual-star.com worked fine. It allows the use of both center and side stands. For what it's worth, I have never had any problems dealing with the people at the said site, but some people I have spoken with have.

With the factory KTM side/centre stand it's either mount one or the other as both stands use the same mounting hole. I believe a few guys have made modifications in order to mount both but I don't know what this entails. I think you're better off to go with the aftermarket version like the one Mr Miller suggested.

Hi,
As the guys have said, you cant fit both KTM stands at the same time - I used an SW-Motech side stand with the KTM centre stand which works well , but you need to weld a larger end plate onto the stand 'foot' for use on soft surfaces or it will sink.

or you can get them from Sommersalong along with lots of other goodies:

Also

If you haven't already, you may want to check at www.advrider.com for some more info or suggestions. A friend had purchased an aftermarket sidestand for a trail bike that connected to or near the swingarm. I think he purchased it at www.bajadesigns.com.

sommer sidestand

hi andy
both debs and my 640 have the sommer sidestand conversion, the springs are a little harsh so you need to watch your shins when you stand the bike up, but other than that they work fine

Hi
I just remembered I took a photo of the SW motech/KTM setup:

As Patta says, the twin springs keep you on your toes first thing in the morning - I removed the inner one !!
