HU Meeting Spain (Andalucia) 2008

Seriously looking into organising the first HU Meeting in Spain for 2008. Anybody interested in attending/presenting? We live 35km inland from Malaga in the Spanish mountains and have some of the best biking roads in Andalucia. Venue would depend on numbers. Let me know. Thanks.

Thumbs up Sounds good

Despite the heat, are you considering August? this would fit with annual holidays, allowing more to come.....

Best wishes

HU Meeting Spain (Andalucia) 2008

It's 40C plus here most days in Jul/Aug/Sept, but if 200 people say they'll come in August, who am I to argue?

Love the idea and would be willing to present. But please not July/Aug.

Poll posted - when do YOU think is the best time for a meeting in Spain?

I'll be there, and possibly Susan too if we can work it out.

If you're interested in presenting, please post here too. When we have a date and location we'll put up a meeting page.

Thanks, and hope to see you there!

Thumbs up Spain in September - What could be better?

Guys, I know the area very well.

September would be a great time for anybody travelling down from Northern Europe - weather for the trip down would be reasonable; weather whilst your there would be great!!!

I divide my time between the Malaga region and Gibraltar (gateway to North Africa) and this area has something for everyone from nice mountain road ride (well over 1000m) to excellent trails. Plus some great historical places to see like the Alhambra - Granada (about an hour and half from the coast), Cordoba (about two hours), Ronda, Gibraltar and last but not least Tarifa – the most southerly point on mainland Europe.

So why not do the HUBB meet and have a wee holiday in the area while you’re at it. It’s a beautiful region, especially out of the normal holiday season - September would be great.

I’ll put my name down to lead out a local ride or two, or if necessary just give the attendees some ideas for rides.

Talking Andalucia

My mother lives (and is from) Cordoba. It is HOT in Aug/July down there!

Best time in Andalucia is probably May or September.
I would consider coming if it's in Sept (2008). I should be back from South America by then and hopelly working to fund the next trip!

I would even be tempted to do a presentation (in english or spanish doesn't matter) but for now it is far too early as my trip has not even started!!

I lived in the area for a year in my youth (with my TriBSA 750), but never did get to see the Alhambra, Ronda, or the mosque at Cordoba. So I would be really interested in this meet.

Plus, I hope to start building a base in Morocco later this year, so I will be on the doorstep.

IT'S A MULTIPLE CHOICE VOTE!

Of the 11 people who voted, there are just 18 actual votes.

I voted for 5 different months (Mar, Apr, May, Sep, Oct), so that means the other 10 people who voted have only selected 13 choices in total. So it looks like most people have only voted for one particular month.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
