Buying motorcycles in Khovd, Mongolia, need help!
My girlfriend and I will be buying 2 new Mustang, a 150 and 200cc. We found the dealer, good prices. But, we were wondering, as forum searches gave no recent info:
1)If someone knows an English speaking person who could be used as a translator
2) Can foreigners actually buy bikes in Mongolia? We had 2 conflicting answers by 2 Mongolian rental operators out of UB.
3) Does anyone know of a place we can sell them back in UB in early October?
OR
4) Has anyone experienced shipping bikes to Vietnam or Laos, as we will be there in late October?
We're experienced backpackers, newbies at bike traveling!
Thanks!

Hurrah!
Hi Maria, thanks for taking the time to respond!
Update:
Yesterday, with the help of a woman who served as a translator, we bought 2 new mustangs 200. We went to the police station first in order to make sure we could. They said that we can buy them, and resell them within 30 days without putting plates or registering them. We needed to make sure to get the proper import papers with the sale from seller.
We bought the bikes, went to the police station with the papers they said all looked ok, but to go to the transport department to make sure everything was perfect. We saw the transport department officer who looked at out papers and said everything was in order.
Cheers

Hello Vait-Scholz !
You said: "you can buy and sale as foreinger motorcycles in mongolia, but you can't register" What to you exactly mean by " You cant register"?
Becauuse, I'm planning a trip from Mongolia to Paris and I realised that I need to legaly own the bike if I want to get in the Schegen Area with it in order to deal with the paper work at the entry to do a Temporary importation.

I think that is pretty clear.
You can buy it. And so you legally own it.
But as long you are a foreigner not legally living there you cannot register the bike.
So you own it legally, but have no plates to drive outside the country.
Its simple.

Can you tell where did you buy the bikes ?
How much did they cost ?
Don’t you need insurance ?
Can you have insurance without plates / register ?
Thanks
