unfortunately, the distance you ride in China hardly matters. Even if it's only 200 km, it takes the best part of a day just to get the papers sorted out. If the custom officials are having bad day, you'll have to go to the hotel (in Tashkorgan, where the customs are), and get your bike the next day. Most of the cost for the guide will go to the preparation of the importation papers, so it's not "just a couple hours" but many days of work for the tour company. So we're looking at 1000$ +, no matter how long you ride in China.
I haven't heard of somebody shipping by truck, although it sounds like a good idea. You'd have to put your bike in a sealed container that's bound from Pak to Taj, and I suspect there aren't many doing this route.
