Pakistan (Rawalpindi)
Hi,
there is a repair shop in Rawalpindi, run by the only competent mechanic (for big bikes) in the whole of Pakistan. This guy worked in Japan for 8 years and specialises in Honda, but he can fix any other bike as well and he can probably organize/import the proper spare parts if needed. All the locals with Fireblades etc go here.
His name is Mr. Bashir, and the address is Tipu Road, near Sir Syed Chowk, Rawalpindi.
To get there, go to Liaqut Square and follow Murree Road south for about 400 meters. Turn left, into Tipu Road. Go straight for another 300 or 400 meters and you'll see a big Honda sign above his shop on the right side of the road. If you can't find it, just ask for Mr. Bashir in this street, everybody knows him.
Don't go to just any shop in Pakistan, because they'll ruin your bike! He may be a bit more epensive than the other shops, but it's certainly worth it. He charged me 20 euros for 5 hours of work including an oil change and a spark plug.
cheers,
Peter

I can also highly recommend Mr. Bashir. He straightened my bent kickstand, "washed" my air filter making it look brand new, and installed a new tube in my 17" rear tire.
He charged around $8 USD for his services and the tube. I was very happy with him and I can highly recommend his services.
Mr. Bashir's shop is closed on Friday and his shop is just past Sir Syed Chowk, about 800-1000 meters on Tipu Road after the turn from Murree Road, not 300-400 meters.

Good or bad??????
Hi there,
we just want to let you know, that the guys in the shop destroyed the thread for the engineoil bolt on Evas motorcycle!!!
When we drove to the camping in Islamabad, the bolt was only half in and it was leaking too!!
Now we are in Kuala Lumpur / Malaysia and found out that the new Alternator last only 10.000 Km! :-(
But maybe that is good for Pakistan!!??
And we are spoiled from the good german mechanics??

Good...
Well, we can only recommend this guy! Went there several times and he always took time (and very little payment) to help us out. And did a good job aswell!
If in need, we've left two rear and two front tyres with him. Fell free to pick them up if you come by Pindi:
2 TKC80, 17", one of them only half worn and in a good condition.
1 Metzeler - Enduro 3 Sahara, 19" also in pretty good shape.
Stephan also left his 19" front tyre there. Can't remember which one.
Happy riding - Simon

Just to let you know Bashir is still working and he's a good man - one of the few mechanics in Pakistan who actually thinks before he does something:
We straightened our bent frame and some other minor repairs on our crashed GS.
Good service with reasonable price. Recommended.

pindi
Pakistan, Rawalpindi or they called it: Pindi
My battery broke down in the mountains.
Stayed 2 weeks in the village but useless. Got the bike onto a truck and went to Rawalpini.
This guy owes a Honda F4, 600cc racing bike.
He created miracle on my Africa Twin 750.
