beer in ecuador

Hello boys and girls my name is Albert and I own the only Brewpub in Ecuador. All the ingredients are British and we do a Scottish heavy ale,an India pale ale,a stout which is better than the usual boring tat and a Czech style lager and to go with it a rare old variety of pub meals.
Oh and I also have a KTM950 Adventure and my shiny new Husqvarna 610 sm for playing the fool in town,I,ve been about a bit in Ecuador Colombia and Peru and in the last couple of months I,ve been visited by two Yamaha Diversions would you belive two BMW1150,s two BMW 1200,S and yesterday two Yamaha TTR600,s and I,ve helped a few get a hold of tyres and bits and bobs as I know the local bike shops and so on.
So if you fancy a pint a bit of scoff or need a bit of advice or just want to make a lost Scotsman happy, drop by to

As good as he says!

It was me and my woman on the TTR´s, top bloke, just got 2x new pirelli MT90s from Cuenca as promised and arranged by Albert. The guys at the KTM dealer were ace and let me use the workshop and tools to change the tyres, sprockets, chains and wheel bearings (which they got me a discount on).
Big thanks to Albert for the assistance and advice, the pub is a bit of an oasis for the aching assed british biker too. Good , warm fire and the feel of a real pub, ideal after lots of miles away from a real boozer!

Ah yes Popayan, the place with many banks ! Could have been my bike, although the silver is the duck tape covering up the 'Khalahari yellow' !
I am sure we will visit Quito again someday as we didn't get to visit the Galapogos islands last time round.
All the best to you Albert !

Rick McDermed here. I am (and maybe two others if we make contact tonight in San Cristobal de las Casas) crossing into Guat tomorrow at La Mesilla. I think I was just behind you yesterday. I stopped to talk to the German couple in the overland van and they said someone or two from Washington had just left them two minutes ago. I stayed and talked to them for 20 minutes so didn't catch up. Maybe I'll see you on the road. You going thru El Salvador or bypass?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
