Iran with private vehicle is no longer allowed??
Hey guys
Does anyone have recent informations about crossing into Iran with your own vehicle? Some friends on tour in India at the moment told me that there wa a change of rules...
Enter Iran with Own Vehicle | Travel News
Can not imagine that this is true, so hopefully some of you guys just crossed into Iran and can tell otherwise...
Cheers for your informations.

I just got my Iranian visa today. Please someone tell me I didn't spent 6 weeks trying to get it for nothing..!
This seems odd though. Are they closing all international routes? And would this only be for tourists?
After doing a quick search it seems there was a similar 'rumour' last december, and I know people have been entering Iran this year already. I guess someone will have to give it another try

For what it's worth: I got an email from my contact at Key2Persia today, saying they have clients that entered the country in their own cars just last week. They have not heard of a ban.

They would let you in :-)
Don't believe too much of what you read on all this. If I would have taken into account all the warnings about Iran and Pakistan in 2006, I would have never left. It's a fantastic area of the world to visit. Have fun!

This is the right point of view! There always such rumours going on. When we entered Iran last october there was the one with the "fuel card" which was supposed to be totally necessary, what also was a false...
Just go and see, most the people are trying to help you, even with privat support! Have a nice trip and keep posting how it goes! I'm intending to enter Iran again coming from Armenia in August!
All the best!

Iran on motorbike
Its election time in Iran, thats the problem. If you mention you are on a bike they will tell you to have a guide or you will not get the reference code and visa. Thats what they told me yesterday at the embassy in Trabzon.
Everything will be back to normal after the 22. of June.
Without vehicle no problem.

We're in Iran
Hey everybody,
we too crossed into Iran 5 days ago. No problem with a carnet, border crossing was a bit chaotic but took only one and a half hours. We also met a French family who crossed the same day with a truck.
So no worries, like us, you'll be very welcome here. But maybe avoid the weeks around the elections in June.
Oh yeah, we used the Seto border.
