Official HU jacket patch

Hi All,

I'm posting this request for assistance with the full endorsement of Grant Johnson (HU co-founder).

We're looking into the feasibility and cost effectiveness of producing a fabric patch (in the same design and size as the currently available large [4"] stickers) that can be attached to a jacket, or other fabric article.

This is not definitely happening yet, as we need to be sure that there is interest and that the price is right. However, if you have contacts in the business of manufacturing these types of patches can you please PM me with the contact details (e-mail or website is best), along with your details, especially if this may help us get a discount.

Also, without starting a long discussion on the relative merits, can you please let us know if this is something you may be interested in, as this will help us judge order quantities.

Any questions please let me know. The response may not be quick, but I'll do my best.

Thanks,
Rich

After all the Hubb v ADVrider posts perhaps H.F.F.H. may be a better patch!

4"

Yes for the HU patch, but i think 4" dia, is a little bit on the large size.
Maybe 3"dia would be more suitable especialy if you intend sewing onto your jacket.
just my opinion.

Hi Rick,
Valid point, and I'll run this past Grant. The advantage I guess of a larger patch is that you'll stand out more in a crowd, but as we're only at the quote stage we still have scope to make amendments.
Thanks,
Rich

Thanks for all the feedback guys.
Its good to see that we've got interest for these patches.
We're getting more competative quotes in, so it shouldn't be long before we're able to get the first samples through.

I'll be up for a couple of patches. I also feel 4" might be too big on a jacket. My bike club has patches for their jackets, they're 3.25" and big enough without being too big.

I'm taking on board the comments about the size of the patch, and I'll discuss this with Grant. [I can't imagine going from a 4" patch to a 3" patch will make a massive difference to cost - although maybe to the clarity, as the patches are stitched designs].
Thanks for the comments,
Rich

Like this site quite a bit, and wouldn't mind getting a patch, but frankly the current design is way too cutesy for my taste. I wanted to see if any thought had been given to creating a simpler, more subdued, less-cartoonish design?

Thanks for your feedback.

Personally I've not been involved in the logo design, so I would have to speak with Grant about any changes to that.

I would say that the logo is now in very widespread use, and is therefore now very recognisable [at least within our immediate 'family' circle], and for this reason I think it is unlikely that another design will be chosen; but it doesn't hurt to ask.
