We Might Be In The Area!

We just bought our bikes in Malyasia, the only thing we know for sure is that we will meet my parents in Thailand for the first 3 weeks of November (as that was when our bikes were suppose to be shipping to South America). Now we have two new Honda Waves and will be riding South East Asia for the next 5 months! December is still open, but maybe we will cross paths! It would be cool to meet for if we do.

Hi Chris,

I might be in the area that time for a and some fun on a Enduro...
It is a nice area with a lot of dirt roads and good singletrails. I did some riding there in 2006. There is an german in Chiang May who ownes a motorcycle rapairshop and he rents bikes also. And there was an Africatwin rider from england? who has made a good map for motorbike riding in Chinang May area an can give you tips.
I would loke to go again, and also to the HU meeting in Jan.

But right now I am waitin for the Bike to arrive in Bangkok and all next stepps and the route are depending on when the Bike is finaly here...

If I know more I will post it.

Greetings Heiko

Hi Heiko
If you're there at the time I am, it'd be great to drink a cerveza and go for a ride. I think the German is called Joe. I'm renting my bike from him. Also, the AT man runs www.gt-rider.com I've bought his maps.

Also at RideAsia.net • Motorcycle forum for riders from all of Asia you can get a more maps and a gps map of northern Thailand. I'm buying mine right now.

I'm looking forward to my trip very much.
cheers
Chris

We plan on going to the Chaing Mai meeting, but it will depend on when a friend visits us. He arrives the end of December for 1 month, and we are working out the finer points at the moment! But I am pushing for all 3 of us to go there!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
