Hai guy's and girls,
Right now I am in Jodhpur, India... on my way to Bombay to get a new tyre (conti tkc-80, 21-90-90) witch I hope to find there.
Then the question of X-mas comes to mind... I guess Goa is a nice idea.
Anyone in the erea has a sugestion?

Maarten,
Goa is apopular place for trqavellers to spend Christmas - so you are now officially appointed as this years organiser!
Get there early and find a good place to stay and party!
Then post info here on the HUBB.

Hiya Marten
Well Goa sounds an excellent place to spend Xmas to me! I am currently in Iran, probably leaving in a week, then about 3/4 weeks in Pakistan with a vague plan to be in India for Xmas and the new year.
There is also at least another half dozen bike travellers i have spoken to who are also currently in Iran and heading your way, although at various speeds.
Mmmm, a Xmas beach party??

Hi all,
Well... I'll do my best to organize a beach-X-mas-party. I'll probably be there on time, find a good place to party and organize some drinks and food etc... Would be great fun.
Wil, Nice to hear your comming to. And the rest also ofcourse. Looking forward to it.
Enjoy Iran and Pakistan... and don't let the Pakistan-customs ripp you off when you leave. Pay notting!
Take care and see you in Goa

Hey Marteen,
How are you holding up in the crazy indian trafic? Which way have you taken..any recommendations for pleasant, low truck traffic roads? Did a quick 2 weeks whirlwind tour with a friend of mine via Delhi, Jaipur, Pushkar, Ramgardh, Agra, Meerut, Moussoorie and bacl to Delhi... will be leaving arly tomorrow morning to head to Jaiselmer... after this towrds Goa...should be there by mid December... might be fun to have a big Christmas bash there.
Keep me posted on where you are planning to do this...seems like Grant designated you as the official organizer... (great thinking Grant) Marteen is the most organized person I have met on my travels so far... pick a good spot Marteen.
Save driving,
Andreas

Hi Andreas,
Would be great to see you again in Goa, am in Mumbai right now trying to get a front-wheel-tyre.... Not so easy it seems.
I am afriad the only (direct) road towards Mumbai (and so Goa) is NH 3... and this is hell on wheels. You feel like your a bowling-pin.... but the rules have changes... there is just 1 pin... and 10 bowling-balls try to crush it... Yes, the bowling-balls are made by Tata.
On the way to jaisalmer I took the western-road (NH 15 ?)... It's in great condition and virtually empty.... This is good driving al the way to Udaipur... but from there the fun starts.
See you in Goa!!!!!

OK... I have found the perfect location for a christmas-beach-party.
I have rented a little house (on pole's) with a view to the sea... Every morning I jump into the sea to wake up... It's great.
The adres:
Merrylands Paradise
Junaswada Beach
on the road from Arambol to Mandrim (4 Km from Arambol-beach)
Just let me know if you come and with howmany people...
If your on time you can get a hut here.
By the way... the road from Mumbay to Goa ios great... not much trafic and in good condition.. swirling though some hills... Super ridding...
Mumbai to Goa (NH 17)...
Then take the exit towards Pernem
and follow Arambol...
Go past Arambol towards Mandrim...
Take Junaswada Beach (after 4 Km)
then it is on the right (1 Km) side.
(not merrylands guesthouse, but a bit further.. merrylands paradise)
CU soon
Maarten (getting sun-burned)

I'll be in Goa at xmas and new year Maarten - staying in Dona Paula for a 2 week break. Nothing as adventurous as riding there - using a big metal bird! I'd be interested in meeting up sometime.
