"TÉNÉRÉ LEGEND" international meeting 2008
Hi just saw this its posted in the Motorcycle Events Around The World.
Looks very intresting.
Hi I copied this from the Events around the world section
"TÉNÉRÉ LEGEND" international meeting 2008
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ready at last: 25 years of wanderlust, 25 years of distant places, 25 years of adventure,
25 years TÉNÉRÉ! Congratulations!
What bounds up all motor bikes called TÉNÉRÉ with its drivers? It is the many adventures that
we were allowed to experience, that we were told and that we could observe in the press.
TÉNÉRÉ stands for adventure! It challenges us to travel to distant places, cultures, uphill,
downhill, on bendy roads, on gravel and asphalt.
We – TÉNÉRÉ bigots and not a company – invite you to be in on the 25th Birthday
of the TÉNÉRÉ which we will celebrate from the 30th of May to the 1st of June 2008
in MOTHERN FRANCE. We gave our best shot to make it a big occasion!
Be in when there are original rally TÉNÉRÉs and drivers to marvel at.
Get mesmerized by driving during a training on a self-groomed racing track.
There will be experienced drivers as instructors on site.
Get familiar with the country of Stéphane Peterhansel.
We have prepared maps for you so that you can explore the countrysite
with your TÉNÉRÉs by yourself.
Meet like-minded people from all over the world and swap ideas.
We have invited all popular TÉNÉRÉ clubs known to us, former rally TÉNÉRÉ
drivers and motor bike travellers.
Barter or sell spare parts on the flea market. Get freebies from sponsors.
Your mobility is guaranteed by a repair and assembling shop with spare parts.
The moto-cross area in Mothern (France) is waiting for you!
You will also find a campground with sanitation. Furthermore,
you will be regaled by the “Club Motor-Cross Mothern”.
Detailed information can be found on our constantly growing website:
tenerelegend.com
IMPORTANT:
You will need a „international motor insurance card” for driving onsite.
You are not allowed to drive on blocked roads in the vicinity,
otherwise you will be excluded from the event.
The French traffic regulations apply (Code de la rout francais) onsite.
Open fire is not permitted, especially on the campground.
The instruction of the personal is to be followed.
Arrival and departure is on the visitors own risk.
The organizer reserves the right to change the course and arrangement
of the event.

There is also the 1st HU meeting in Germany the week before the Tenere meeting I think its about 100 kms between the two meetings. If the weathers looking good I may take a couple of weeks off and do both.

Tenere Legend 2008
Hello All,
I'd be interested in travelling along with anyone going to this event. Being a novice traveller, I could do with getting the experience under my belt, just need to prepare the bike and arrange time off work...

480 miles from Kent
I may well have to be there, if I leave on the 04:30 ferry I could be in Morten for a a quick before lunch time sandiches and hoolaginism. Spend two night there then catch the 14:00 or 15:00 ferry back on Sunday afternoon.
I will pick up with anyone on an XT at that time in the morning on the ferry
Great weekend.
The cost for two on a motorbike is €18 each way at P&O ferries.
Looks like I now I have a target date for all my preparation to be complete by.
See you there. G

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
