Travelling from San Francisco to South America (March 2003)

Hi All,

I am planning to take a trip from San Francisco as far south (Argentina) as I can, and am looking for an adventure-loving biker to join me on my tour. The timescale is currently still flexible.

I ride a 1989 BMW R100GS, yellow and black (hence the username). I would like to ride with another Beemer, but any decent sized dual-sport bike will do ;-)

Let me know if you are interested in joining me on this trip.

Regards,

Christian

I am planning on starting in April from Toronto, Canada and I should be in Mexico by May. Then, sometime in July in Panama, from where I will ship to South America (not sure yet where to).

hello again,

looks like there's quite a crowd gathering. I fly into Toronto March 13th (inshallah), gonna spend a month or so in the US then heading south as far as Argentina on a 650 Dakar. Email me if you're innarested in hooking up for some cold s and sketchy trails. Maybe we can convince ourselves to try the Darien Gap.

Cheers for now, Dan Walsh

When you're in Toronto, send me a message and we can go out for a . I'm leaving in April, so you're going to be a bit ahead of me. Hopefully, when you get here, the snow has melted. Today we had again a high of -10C or so. Normally, we have snow until end of March. It shouldn't be a problem on the road, unless you arrive in a blizzard.

Hi,
I've already been in communication with some of you but just to summarise, I'm doing a similar trip but starting in Alaska in May. Will probably be in Mexico in August, planning on Tierra Del Fuego for Xmas 2003. Bound to see some of you on the road - I am riding an XT 225.
Cheers,
Lois

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
