Info on NA to SA border x-ings, prices and more
I came across this website on Adventure Rider. I found some good current info in this journal from Mike riding a KLR to TDF, left December 20, 2005.

Quastdo, Thanks for looking at my website and the compliment. I hope you signed my guest book.
I take an hour every day to write the days activity including border crossing details, costs and how many stations you need to touch at each border. Max so far was entering Colombia at Bogata, It was 24 steps....
Also included is how I bypassed the Hondurus $60 fee that everyone else pays. No problems.
I post every day when possible.
You may have to search for the info your are looking for, because the journal is by date, but each days journal has the days location and subject of the day. i.e. crossed into Colombia.
I Left Colorado Springs 22 Dec 2005. I am in Santiago now and hope to get to Ushuaia in 10 days.
The KLR is giving me an oil overflow problem which comes out of the air cleaner compartment. At least I have an automatic oiler for my chain now, since I rerouted the hose over the chain. But the rear tire is oil soaked which causes me to slow down on the curves. Also, I am trying to get to Ushuaia on these Gripster tires. 10,000 miles on them now.
Keep the shiny side up. Which I failed to in Ecuador.
arrive Ushuaia 9 March 2006
If you can read english, you can find the journals location on my site.
Please sign my guestbook, if you care to receive the daily log, no ads, no fuss. I keep my word about the privacy of your info.
Heck, you know everything about me.
Mike

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
