The story of my trip across Canada, and my new adventure into Mexico as it unfolds, falls apart & gets taped back together and boldly advances.
At the end of this July, three riders will take off on an Arctic adventure. Two will be on trusty Airheads and the third on a Oilhead GS as we head North to the upper limit of the James Bay Road in Quebec. The trip will focus on Beer, History and motorcycles.
The beer is Allsopp's Arctic Ale, which is a story unto itself. It's a 157 year old recipe, was created for the ships searching for the Northwest Passage and we'll be adventure brewing it over a wood fire in the far North.
Our ride although not remarkable, will be an adventure.
We've completed our adventure. One rider dropped out after one week. We managed to brew beer under extremely difficult conditions at Longue Point, Quebec. This is the most North Western point in Quebec that can be reached by road (Dirt). Albatross Films, a documentary film crew from Russia, filmed the adventure and it should be ready for release next Summer (2011). The Aurora Borealis was stunning.
There's a direct link between the development of small scale factory mills and the development of motorcycles so it seemed perfectly natural to stop at a working flour mill that was constructed in 1790 and "modernized" in the late 19th century to examine the gearing mechanisms.
My story about my trip, left Canada end of December 2009, still going (March 2010)
