Coming from  Jersey

20/3/98 Luckily I had had the motorcycle reconverted to right hand drive when we arrived in Jersey because today's excursion to Guernsey we also drive on the left. It's been easy so far left/right. Australia to Pakistan on the left, Iran to France on the right and then the two Channel Island countries again to the left. Same high speed cat and in 50 minutes we are in Guernsey just for the day. Of course we now have the Guernsey cow and the Guernsey football jacket and the friendly rivalry between the islands would hate me saying it but they are very similar. Same beaches, old castles, WW2 defences and cliffs, but still independently different. Both also have enormous tidal variations, up to 13 meters and its interesting seeing marinas with boats high and dry with specially modified keels to sit on the mud and then refloat next high tide. Also many of the old island defences are on small high tide islands, low tide causeways.
