Coming from Andorra or read our previous visit to Spain
9/10/09 By mid morning we were into Spain. Many of
the motorhomes and cars were being stopped by the Spanish customs,
searched for excess alcohol or cigarettes they may have purchased duty
free in Andorra, or perhaps even weapons as we saw shops selling goods
forbidden in much of Europe, pepper sprays, electric prods etc. We
passed through without an examination and were soon riding route 260 to
the west, our chosen path through the Pyrenees. The road varied
enormously in speed, from slow tight twisties to long flowing curves,
always without much traffic, always with great scenery. Locals were out
in the pine mountains gathering wild mushrooms, popping up after the
autumn rains. By mid
afternoon, in mild mid 20 degrees, we stopped at a camp ground in
Boltana,
about 250 km's after an easy days scenic riding.
10/10/09 It is time to start heading back
northwards. We have had lovely warm autumn weather the last month and
haven't used the wet weather gear in that time despite being in the
mountains almost consistently. As our flights back to Australia are now
out
of London, due to the old engine's rebuild, on the 26th of this month,
we will spend our last two weeks
for this trip wandering up through western France.
