Crossing from Ghana to Burkina in a car
Hello,
I am planning on visiting Ouagadougou this weekend, crossing overland from Ghana. Ideally, I would like to cross in my Ghanaian registered car. Does anyone know what paper work is required, how much it costs and whether having diplomatic number plates makes a difference? Thanks |
Hi Rory,
Welcome to the HUBB :) You don't mention your nationality, so I cant comment on if a tourist visa is required, but I don't think you will need any special paperwork to get into Burkina Faso for the vehicle, as long as it is registered in your name and you have the documentation with you - if it is not, then you may need a letter of permission from whoever does own the vehicle and a phone number for them just in case. Just make sure that your insurance covers you while you are out of Ghana. As for the diplomatic plates, you should refer to who issued them. |
