Free Snow Chains!!!!!
Hi Everyone
I recently purchased some snow chains in a military auction, but I only needed 4. I have about 20 left and they are free to anyone who fancies coming and getting some. They are in north Essex, UK and no I don’t fancy posting them as they weigh about 10kg each. They fit Bedford MJ wheels (12.00 X 20) with a bit of modification and will fit larger trucks. Or smaller as you can chop bits out http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif they were originally for the old UK Military ERF’s ( no I don’t know the size) There is one full set of ice breakers (big nasty pins out of each link) and 16 + normal. If you would like some please email me to sort out coming to pick some up. Hi
Have posted this on to a 101 owning friend of mine who will be in contact - he used to own a bedford too You might be able to answer a question for me - we have been wondering about fitting bedford shocks to our 101's (as 101 shocks are as available as rocking horse poo) If you've got any spares I need the type of mounting for front and rear and compressed and extended lengths or maybe the details are in a workshop manual - any help would be appreciated You could also try the unimog groups to get rid of the rest too - try unimogs-uk on yahoo groups ------------------ Rich LR101 300Tdi Ambi 'Tiggurr' |
Hi Rich
Have you tried Vass for 101 shocks? Also as you can tell I have a few friends in the military vehicle fraternity and will ask about for you. The Front shocks and the MJ are just a standard lorry type bush, Quite large, I don’t have any spare but I can measure the working length on mine and I will let you know the bolt Dia of the bush mount, width and shock Dia so you can see if they will fit. The only problems I can think is that the front and rear of a Bedford are designed for 4 - 4 ½ tone so the inertial mass is a lot more than a 101 so you will get a very stiff ride! Will post tomorrow with the dim’s Rob Bedford MJ Old slow and Orange. |
Thanks for the info
The problem i'm having is to find ambi shocks which are damped differently to a standard GS 101 (alot stiffer) so the beddie ones might be a good match Glad to see you like Orange trucks - they are the best :-) ------------------ Rich LR101 300Tdi Ambi 'Tiggurr' |
