Fuel quality in Namibia/Botswana
 

Can anyone tell me what the quality of diesel is like in the above countries. Any special precautios necessary. Thanks in advance.

just been there..no problems with either quality or availability.. when you enter make sure you get insurance that covers all the southern african countries..

Is all good. just in the moddle of Botswana there may be a small shortage. But just ask farmers where to get. Quality all good.

Does this insurance have a name, like the 'carte brun' for the ECOWAS countries in west Africa? Also what countries does it cover and how much is it?

cant really rememeber too much but i bought mine in kenya on my first trip and it covered all countries south,on the next trip i got it in zambia an it covered everywhere east and south..its yellow and covers the SADECC countries think it cost about USD40 but dont quite me on that.

please confirm this info as my memory is dreadful..its caused by alcohol and old age
