Thanks Hugh, that was a really useful bit of reading.
Planning a similar trip with the kids, and I must say that you have put my mind at ease about a few of the practicalities which have been troubling me. Not least being vegetarian! What an adventure! Hope you are in planning for another?! Would you recommend an emergency medical course? Guess it is just piece of mind again. Cheers, katie |
Hi Katie
I would definitely recommend doing a First Aid course particularly as you will be traveling with children. It concentrates the mind, and also gives peace of mind. We were in places seriously far from help and knowing how to deal with potential medical emergencies - and having the kit - was invaluable. But make sure it isn't just a basic first aid course, but one for expeditions to remote places, although basic first aid is better than nothing if no expedition course available where you are. Enjoy your planning.... |
Thanks,
Looking into a two day 'Far From Help' medical course for later in the year. |
