Some suggestions
These may or may not be of any help. I cannot vouch for any of these personally, however I know some people that have used www.Uship.com with no complaints. Below are some other sites that ship vehicles.
www.shippingauto.com www.shipmyvehicle.com www.shippinginternational.com www.movermax.com www.eindiabusiness.com www.discount-shipping.net www.worldexpress.com Good luck and have a safe trip. Charlie |
Hi we shipped our Landrover 110 from India to Singapore in Feb. 2004. We shipped from Goa in a 20' container (couldn't find roro anywhere). At that stage we had never shipped before and We were thinking about Mumbai or Madras but as it turned out Goa (Marmagoa) worked out as cheap. The Shipping cost was higher but the lower port costs offset the difference. In travelling around the world we found that the smaller the port the easier it was. The shipping company we used was Hapag Lloyd and the transit took 10 days (it would be quicker from one of the main ports as our container changed ship in Colombo). As this was our first time shipping we used a customs agent, but I think it was worth it (approx. 100euro) as every thing in India can be slow and tied up with red tape. It took us 2 weeks of e-mails and phone calls just to get on to the right people when it could be done in a couple of days. I'll look up the details if your interested. Shipping into Singapore is efficient but complicated Penang,Malaysia, might be a better option.
