sudan visas in cairo
 

we are currently in cairo after haveing come from the uk and are looking to get a visa for sudan (which we did apply for two months before we left but hadn't come through).

the lonely planet guide says they can be obtained in aswan in a day. is this true?

they say it will take ten days and requires a letter of recomendation from the british embassy to apply in cairo.

any help would be much appreciated.
