Hi,
I leave for cape town from UK overland via Middle East and Egypt. I leave on Nov 1st. What is the best way to obtain visas for Sudan Ethiopia? Any up to date ideas would be appreciated....Foggy.

Getting Ethiopian visa in Khartoum was quick and easy. Took 24 hours. Only embugurance factor was that to get a sudanese visa in Ethiopia or a Ethiopian visa in Sudan requires a letter of introduction from your countries embassy. If your British they charge £25. Doesn't seem to be required for the same visas from other countries.

Having recently driven through The Sudan and Ethiopia I can tell you that I got my Ethiopian visa in London (valid for 6 months) and obtained The Sudan visa in Cairo in 3 hours. The British embassy refused to give a letter of recomendation to us, saying that is what a passport is for, but the sudanese didn't mind once shown some american dollar.
