Waterproof boxes to go on roof trays
I'm looking for some waterproof box's to put in my roof cage / tray to keep things like food, spares, toolkit etc. That I can lock and keep secure.
I know of pelican cases, but far too expensive for me. Can anyone offer any alternatives? |
Hi try a google for zarges, also a bit spendy when new but there are a few on Ebay UK at the moment.
Without being preachy & not knowing what vehicle you have, the normal warnings about loading the roof apply. regards Gren |
Thanks for the info, found some on ebay look decent.
Weight I will be putting max 50-70kgs on split evenly, so shouldnt be a problem |
I got some on this site Plastic Boxes | Plastic Storage Containers | Plastic Crates | Big Boxes
Waterproof, lockable, plastic light weight boxes. Seem good, cheap too |
How handy are you?
I ask because I've seen some folks that have taken larger plastic cases and built essentially a cage for them with a solid metal front on the roof by which to lock them securely and prevent debris from breaking them. I believe the idea was that these cases were not designed for being on the roof of a vehicle, but when comparing the cost for a pelican case, they decided to fab up some stuff on their own and put this up top. THey also used a double rubber gasket seal around the lid and bottom for water and dust tight seal. |
