Bullet holes and an abandonded USA motorhome in Brazil
In Sao Luis, Brazil there is a Motorhome with Montana , USA, plates parked in some suburb , apparently been there since Feb 6 . there are marks of bullets in the front windshield and no sign of the owners. Someone spoke with them just before this date and said they were german (or german speaking at least). The police has not yet been able to discover he names of the owners ( there you see the efficiency of automatization at brazilian borders). Has anyone met them and has a name of the owners?

Who is it?
If indeed there is a Montana plate on the motorhome, the Brazilian authorities, with one phone call, can determine who is the registered (legal) owner of the abandoned motorhome.
The US Embassy frequently provides this service at local authorities' request, by calling Montana's or whatever State's Motor Vehicle Department. If someone will provide the Montana plate number to the US embassy - it might be helpful. Sometimes to avoid fake "claims" for ransom, the authorities withhold names of victims from the public in order to evaluate ransom claims. Unless the correct name of the victim is provided by the abductors, the case is usually put on the back burner. And, in the event of death, names are commonly withheld until next of kin are notified. I have worked foreign abandoned vehicle discoveries in Mexico at the request of the IRC - International Red Cross and in the every case I worked, the owner either illegally sold or abandoned the vehicle. Bullet holes might or might not play into the fact that no one seems to know who the owner is (was). Of course anyone who has any information regarding this motor home should post here and perhaps report to the US embassy in Brazil. Something to think about: if the Montana owner illegally sold this motorhome somewhere in South America - (let's say to the Germans spotted in the motorhome that was entered into Brazil on a TVIP or not), and it is discovered foul play was involved, the registered owner might be in for a very rough time where ever he or she is in the world. xfiltrate |
