Well I have done this trip back in March 2018, but it has taken me this long to put a short video clip together. I do have 100 page diary, but that is not ready for publishing yet. We had major rains in the general Oodnadatta area when we passed through, made the tracks hard work with some fairly deep creek crossings. I think there was a lot of clay content in places which made it harder work when wet.

Wow, what a trip. Thanks for posting, that 50 heat must have been quite an ordeal without the air con. The night sky must have been incredible. I'll have to watch it again. Did you find anyone living so remote that they never expected to see you.

Actually it was full moon, so the sky was bit no event. And nobody lives there, there is nobody living in the area of Simpson desert, between Dalhousie springs and Birdsville

Usually the council closes the roads out there when wet to stop people driving on them making ruts that set like concrete. Best practice is to camp for a day or two and wait for it to dry out.. Fines of $1,000 per axle have been imposed.
