Follow Alexander the Great in a Truck
My family and I have decided to take a bit of time out, buy a truck big enough to allow us to not kill each other and follow in the footsteps of Alexander the Great.
It is a lovely idea but when we started to check his route out properly there seem to be quite a few no go areas on the way - Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc. So we accepted we would have to be a bit selective which leaves us with Greece, Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan. Still good. I am now having a look at what we will need in terms of visas, CdP, etc starting with the most difficult destination, Iran. Does anyone have up to date info on what is necessary for travel into Iran with own private vehicle for UK passport holders? Any info on border procedures (and best crossings) would also be great. Thanks, Murkerlurker |
:welcome:
to the HUBB - I see you have made your first post. I guess you haven't received a reply up to now because of where your post is placed. If you look in the section labelled Trip Paperwork you will find lots of posts about all sorts of issues including the CdP, insurance (vehicle and personal) and suchlike. Most recently it has been said that Brits and Yanks now need to employ a guide to enter Iran; others say otherwise - if you use the search box at the top right of the website, with your own choice of search terms, you should come across plenty of discussion. :welcome: again. |
What an awesome idea. Please keep us posted!
