Birdsville races and the Simpson desert?
 

Is anyone planning on attending the Birdsville races (Birdsville, Queensland) at the end of August?

If you are then will your ride be followed by (or preceded by) a ride across the Simpson desert and surrounding districts?

I'm looking for someone(s) to ride with, so If you're already planning on doing a trip or interested in joining me on a trip then let me know.

Also, any advice/tips on crossing (east to west) and suggestions where to go once across will be appreciated.

Sorry not going that way but when you get to the other side stop at Dalhousie Springs. It will be a pleasent releif when you arive to have a nice warm bath in the springs. The other springs that you pass will be too hot! After the springs head for Mt Dare Homestead. There is a great bar there, oh yeah the food is good too and the campng is OK.
