Melbourne-Adelaide
 

Currently in Melbourne, looking to take the long way to Adelaide. TransAlp and SL230.
The more dirt roads the better, don't mind how long it takes.
Any ideas guys?

If you go west of Portland around the SA border there are plenty of logging tracks through the pine plantations and state forest. The tracks are big and generally in good condition, graded etc. On the main tracks, stick to the correct side as a few people have come to grief, colliding with 4WD's.

We travelled on a lot of logging roads in the NSW/Vic high country on our way south from sydney. Really enjoyed them.
I work in the forest industry in NZ, so was very interested in what we saw. Great roads!
