Melbourne to Brisbane
 

Hi Folks,
We are picking up two DRZ 650's in Melbourne in April and have ten days to ride to Brisbane. Can anyone out there recommend some routes/places to visit. We like to be on unsealed roads as much as possible and will be camping as much as possible too.
If anyone has any maps or online planning aids we'd be most appreciative too.

If you do a weblookup on "National Trail" - a horse/bike/walk trail that runs fro Melbourne to Cairns and then use that as a guide. Motorbikes are prohibited on most of the Trail, but it gives you an idea of places to see. Essentially you need to follow the same line as the Great Dividing Range down the East Coast.


There are plenty of 4x4 maps produced by Hema that come either as digital or hard copy.


OpenSourceMaps is a handy online resource with about the same scale as the Hema maps.
