If you're going to kit out a bike you've bought there, just be aware the aftermarket parts are very expensive in Australia. For example, I wanted a larger IMS tank for my DR. In Australia it was nearly $600 so I ordered it from the US and got one for around half that. Same for the replacement Corbin seat I bought.

From what I gather from those sites (cheers everyone btw), the bikes are not that far away from UK prices. A little bit more but still a huge saving on shipping one over.
What a was suprised with is just how few bikes there seem to be for sale. There must be 5-10 times more bikes on UK websites which seems crazy considering the size of Aus. I would obviously love to take my own bike over but I cant be arsed with the hassel and expense of shipping, carnets , fumigation, insurance etc etc. I still think it works out WAYYY cheaper to buy there unless anyone can educate me differently ?? :scooter: |

Australian governments are not bike friendly either, I think all States now require a bike rider to hold a car licence for one year before they can get a bike licence and then there are all sorts of restrictions on the rider. |

I'm going to be looking for a bike soon aswell once I get to Aus, and have been trawling through those websites like no tomorrow!!
There are def not a ton of bikes for sale in Australia, though apparently if you're willing to spend a bit of time you can find one - you might also have to wait a bit for one with a decent pricetag to come around, S/H prices seem to have gone up a lot lately... |
