Motorcycle Friendly Travel Insurance
I'm heading over to Europe to do a trip with Edelweiss. I have the free credit card insurance, but that doesn't cover bikes, so I'm looking for travel insurance that covers a: riding a bike bigger than 250cc, and b: rental excess cover. I haven't found any yet, not even World Nomads, who advertise on this site. Any recommendations?

Hello Woody:
Check with any travel agent about getting 'trip insurance'. The free insurance you get with your credit card is worth what you pay for it :) - but most policies that you actually pay for have relatively few exclusions, only for things such as racing, skydiving, etc. Michael |
DAN, Diver’s Alert Network: travel insurance which covers most, maybe all activities. Relatively cheap, too.
Always necessary to read the fine print. Aside from the usual reasons, insurance plans differ greatly by country and, if from the USA, by state. My WA State (USA) plan might not resemble your WA (Australia) plan. Hope that’s helpful. Mark |
Woody,
We used Suresave Insc when in Nepal to hire 500cc Enfields. Seem motorcycle friendly and reasonably priced. At least at that time ~ 3years ago, and have used them since for other trips. Joe |

What is your nationality? If you are a brit, I'd recommend Navigator Travel. World nomads doesn't cover brits for motorcycling. Holidaysafe is cheap and cheerful but has horrific reviews from people who actually had to claim and only covers treatment in public hospitals. |

We have used worldnomads and had to make a claim without any problem's. They had multiple levels of cover so make sure it's the correct one. |
