Roadworthiness check in Darwin, where?

Arrived today to Darwin, bike I will get either on Friday or on Monday.
Tomorrow I will visit customs and few other offices.

Question:
Where did you get your roadworthiness checked? Did you get the mandatory 3rd party insurance from there? I know there are few companies that provide these insurances.
Also I should take insurance only for few months because it is so expensive in NT.

When I ride outside of NT, do I need to get new check done?

Small update:
I will not register bike in Oz, I just bring it in temporarily under Cdp.
Reading older posts through, this seems to be quite a messy process to get things done correctly...:(
