UPDATE: share container, Darwin - Dilli Late March-early April 2017
Guy's,
Hoping to get my bike in a container for the Darwin - Dilli run in mid to late December, this is an estimate at this stage as I'm in the process of selling up and getting organised so it could push out into Jan. Looking for expressions of intreset, GPerkins organised a container which left last week and with six bikes it worked at around $500ea on the Darwin side for shipping. Once I have a bit more of a firmer date I will get some accurate pricing. EDIT: Things have changed, looking to get it in a container late March/Early April. Cheers Josh |
Are these plans still on track? Ours might suddenly change, in which case - we could be starters for this idea: 2 x DR650s now in Melbourne but heading off mid-to-late December.

Hi Precis,
No my plans have changed unfortunately and am now looking at late March - early April. Work want me to hang around a bit longer and the dollars are good so mad not to, more money means more time on the road I should have updated the post, my apologies. Regards Josh |
Hi Josh
Wondering how all of this worked out for you? We are about to leave Adelaide for Darwin at the end of the week (2 X Versys-x 300) and are planning to ship from Darwin to Dilli at the start of October. Any tips? |
Hi Strobbia
Saw your post and thought I would say G'day. I am based in Sydney and hope to ship Darwin to Dilli end of October and take about 12 months to reach Ireland. It would be good to stay in touch and maybe our paths will cross along the way. Also it would be good to hear about your shipping experience, you might have some good advice to share. Do you have a SPOT tracker I do and have shared it in the past with other travelers and it's a great way to stay in touch. Ride safe Michael. |

If you go to Maubisse (sth from Dili) there is place on the hill called the Pousada Maubisse; Pousada Maubisse – Timor-Leste (East Timor) I stayed their years ago and would love a photo of it. They used to serve an okay steak, chips and salad for $10US. It was gourmet by TL standards back then... LOL |
