I am still in Thailand but will ride south through Malaysia and island hop via ferry from Singapore until I cant't go any further. Follow my progress at www.strikingviking.net

No ferry from Singapore to anywhere and trying to take your bike there will teach you the meaning of bureaucracy. And expense.
You can ship to Sumatra from Penang or near Malaca - check out the shipping pages. You can also get yourself a 2 month visa for Indonesia in Malaysia. Don't miss Indonesia - it was one of our favorite countries! ------------------ Richard Parkinson http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/tst...richardandlisa |
Make sure to drop me a line when you get down the South Island, mate. It would be grand to meet up with you. I'm near Christchurch.

I've been getting conflicting reports as the availability of a vehicle ferry from Singapore to Bataam. Does anyone have current information?
Thanks Glen |
Hi,
I just shipped my bike a few months ago from Penang,Malaysia to Medan,Indonesia.Which was allright.Let me know or you want the info as i didn't put my report on the site yet. 2 months later i shipped it from Dili,East-Timor to Darwin,Australia which was also easy and pretty cheap. Let me know or you still need the info,ok? Enjoy Indonesia! Cheers,Bossit! |
Bossit,
Can you post your shipping experience on the "shipments by travellers" section on the site, it would be helpful to many other folks, including me! ------------------ Dave www.mototrekker.com |
Go to Melacca in Malaysia or Kuala Lumper as from both places it is easy to get your bikes on a boat to Indonesia.

There is now a new roll on/roll off vehicle from Penang to Medan (Belewan) Please see my report in South Asia section.
