Singapore to Adelaide (South Australia) - Help?
Hi,
I'm toying with the idea of sending my bike over from Singapore to Adelaide (South Australia). Time is not an issue, and I'll opt for the least hassle and best bang for the buck shipping route. I've looked up information in this forum and have found that this has indeed been done before, albeit not the shipping route I plan on taking. (source: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/tri...t/shipping.php) S'pore -> Fremantle (Western Australia) S'pore -> Darwin (Northern Territory) From the looks of it, it will be closer and perhaps cheaper to ship S'pore -> Fremantle (Western Australia). I could then ride the bike or send the bike overland to Adelaide (South Australia). However, if there are shipping companies which ship S'pore -> Adelaide direct, that will be awesome and would definitely save me the trouble. Look forward to hearing form you guys. Cheers! |
Freo
Take the ship to Fremantle ('Freo') and then ride accross to Adelaide. The temps will be settling soon, so if time isn't an issue, follow the coast line around the south west of Western Australia, head back north from Esperance to Norseman and then head East. Follow the second start to the right, and follow until three mornings later...:)
It is some nice riding apart from the 'final' part across the Nullarbor, but even that is interesting for your first time. Plenty of other riding as well depending on what your ride is, you could even go north, head east past Cunnanarra and then head south down the Stuart Hwy - as long as the rains subsided in time. PM me if you end up coming via Freo and I will hook you up with some more details and a bit of helpl if needed. Gazza. |
Hey OzGaz,
Nice to hear from you! I ride a 2001 R1. I'm leaning toward shipping direct S'pore -> Adelaide ;) So just wondering if anyone has done the same too! |
