TS needs parts from Brisbane picked up and sent please

Hi All. If anyone is reading this section

Can I ask a big favour please? If any rider in the brisbane area is available next Wednesday or Thursday in the new year

I am not sure if you know my current situation but I have a broken bike. The parts have been ordered by a friend called Guy and paid for. Because he is heading overseas, to the Dakar lucky bastard, I need somebody else willing and able to pick them up from team Moto in Virginia.

Then, with the addition of an HF138 oil filter from either Guy or yourself, or closest bike shop, taken to the office of DHL in Boronia rd eagle farm to be sent to me here, address to be supplied

That filter and dhl cost has not been sorted yet but will be in the order of approx $200 which I can send via PayPal to the lucky person

If you are willing and able then brilliant and can you let me know ASAP. If you are not able to, can you suggest anyone else who could help please?

Of course if you yourself or someone you know is flying into SEA in the new year and is willing to add it to their baggage that would be even better as it would save 5-10 days postage time as well as a cost saving

Cheers from Vientiane, Laos

This might be a long shot ...............

.................. but there is a community listed for Brisbane in here:-
Horizons Unlimited Motorcycle Travellers' Community - Contact a Community!

Maybe contact via that part of this web page will come up with some help?

I should be able to do it next week TS (via DHL).
PM me with whatever extra details.
Unless of course you find someone who is flying over between now and then!
I'm not overly familiar with Brisbane when it comes to motorbike stores though so if anyone can suggest a place for the oil filter near Virginia that would be great.

Nicola

A German biker mate (we rode Mongolia together last year) is currently visiting Brisbane from Bangkok. I sent him a FB message just now. Will let you know if he replies, or he might reply here direct.

Good luck,
Chris

Hi and thanks for the help

Moritz, the parts are not arriving in Brisbane until about Midday Wednesday but thanks for the offer

Walkabout I forgot about that, thanks

nicola-a, I have found someone to do the pickup and dlivery, but cheers for the offer

Keith, got your PM, cheers

As I have the pickup/delivery sorted all I need now is a mule to bring the bits over, but failing that, DHL will do it

Cheers
TS

Glad that you have a solution.

DHL may look expensive but their charges are based on a standing portion, for the staff involved presumably, and another bit based on the weight; not much different to national postage authorities.
I have used DHL only once and it was fast.
