Visa for OZ
 

I am going overland from UK to OZ next year. It will take me aprrox 6 months to get there and I intend to spend about 6 motnhs in OZ before going to NZ. I have 2 questions:-

1. Does anyone have experince of obtaining an Australian visa in Bangkok. As I will be on the road i cant get one in the UK.The Australian embassy website says that it is preferable to obtain a visa in your home country.

2. A tourist visa can last for between 3 and 6 months. How easy is it to get en extension?
