Bike swap for France, Greece, Turkey. Any help?

Hello all-
Girlfriend and I will be coming into Europe on March 22 for three months. Will be working for a month in France, then moving on to Greece and Turkey for site seeing. Would be fantastic to get out and do it on a bike two up. Have looked at rental sites but this doesn't fit our budget. Have done this once before and worked out nicely borrowing a bike. Would be willing to buy a cheap scooter or motorcycle however with budget restraints and issues registering the bike it is not worth it unless we can find something on the cheap that wouldn't be hard to let go when we are done. Ideally would love to just borrow a bike. Would be willing to work out a deal and do a rental kind of thing paying a fee to use it for several months. We will be flying into London, making our way to France where we will be volunteering for the month, and as I said on to Greece and Turkey. Would be nice to find the bike somewhere around that route prior to getting to Greece or somewhere in the mainland. Been looking at a good site in France but would need to find someone to let us use their address to register the bike if we bought one. Here in the states scooters under 50cc do not have to be registered at least in Colorado. What is the general consensus for legally riding scooters? Do the authorities generally not bother with scooters under 50cc? I also have a couple bikes that I would be happy to swap if anyone is ever interested in touring around Colorado and the South West. Let me know if anyone has anything available or any ideas.
Thanks,
Nathan

if you're seriously looking at a 50 cc scooter for 2-up travel (due to budget constraints) I'm wondering if you can afford the petrol, helmets, jackets, gloves, etc ?

look into bicycles. embarrassingly cheap, you'll see more, and you can stick them on the bus/train if you need to make up time. they don't take oil or petrol, only food.

failing that, PM me with an idea of what bike rental would be like. I have a dormant DL1000 with full luggage, and delivery to London is not a problem.

Insurance

Hi, Insuring a bike you do not own may be a big problem, also not having the registration document in your name will also be a problem. Sorry for the negative input. Andy

Thanks for the input. Scooters are of course only an option when traveling small distances. The idea would be to get one in Greece for around the towns. This would be cheap. As far as price budget is concerned we are willing to buy a bike it was just the issue in trying to get it registered. Petrol, oil, etc is not a problem. I know it can be done but is a hastle this is why rental type thing is best. Bicycles are also a good option and something we have considered however we are viewing it in the same category as the scooter and would prefer something with a bit more power for longer drives.

We want to tour Colorado and we have a GS1150 ideal for your trip to Greece located near London Heathrow. Could we swap trips?
