There was a hole in the petrol tank, repaired many years and miles ago, no ongoing issues. I also cut the pan above the exhaust to fit a fancy box, which turned to be a bit rubbish, so I binned it and patched up the gap.

This bike has been taken me on 2 big trips (London to Kuala Lumpur and around South America as well as several Euro trips). It is quite high mileage and is not in showroom condition; but it is mechanically sound, a good runner and still great fun to ride. I have 2 other bikes in the shed, so the XT doesn't get ridden as much as it deserves. So, reluctantly selling to a good home.
