Well I finaly talked to the tech who gave me the low down:
The right side head somehow expanded into an oval after getting hot.
Why it did this after 31,000 miles is anyone's guess and he said it some times just happens when they get just a little bit hotter than normal.

Anyway it was all warranted and BMW roadside assistance is going to cover the rental truck and gas to get back.

Exepted for losing 4 days of riding in CO not too bad afterall.

I recently did my 18,000 mile service after my incident. Had it retorqued after 600 miles and just noticed my left cylinder is leaking oil from the inner(lower) gasket after about 200 miles. Bringing back to shop on thursday. (R&R..... Ride and Repair). The ovaling thing was discussed with mine. I was told the one cyinder was underbored because the cylinders were made in different countries. If your looking truth, better consult God. Smitty
