2017 R1200 GSA Exhaust Heat
 

I put a Touratech Zega Pro mount on my right side-case to carry a 3 litre fuel canister. The exhaust heat from my 2017 GSA melted the fuel canister to the point that it looked like something out of Salvador Dali's "The Persistence of Memory". I haven't figured out what to do about the exhaust heat issue yet. Has anyone run into this?

It may sound like a stupid question but was the heat from the exhaust gases as they exit the exhaust or heat from the exhaust pipe?

Not a stupid question at all. In this case, it's a heat bloom from the exhaust as it exits the pipe.
