From another sandlover

Nice bike!
I’ve one Basic and one Kalahari (South African with large tank). Your bike is already modified with handguards, crashbars, bashplate, high mudguard and protection for the light.
For touring I think it’s worth considering a few more modifications:

-A bigger tank (Kalahari tank)
-A small windscreen,
-Oil pressure instrument and voltmeter (maybe it’s just for paranoid people like me)

The windscreen used on the Kalahari (and a few other GSes) are pretty good. It removes the wind from your upper body but it makes turbulence (use earplugs).

There are a lot of modifications that can be done with the bike but with the above mentioned modifications you have a great touring setup.
Use some other tires for Morocco (T63 or MT21).

The original wheel (and brakes) fits, but I use a wheel based on a standard hub and a tubed-type rim.

Just a plea: unless it is a personal, private "squidgy" thing, could you guys keep posting information about these bikes here, especially more pics - they are excellent!!!! :thumbup1:
