Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can buy BMW parts in Athens? Fixed the water pump :) but managed to snap the completey corroded clutch actuation arm (the little "lever" on the engine that the clutch cable hooks into) into two :oops2:

Or will any old clutch actuation arm do?

Any arm will do as long as it can fit on the spindle- The OE is easier of course.

Probably am, its Maria. You recommended Dave to me ages ago and he's been my favourite mechanic ever since. Called him with an engine overheating problem the other day, hoping he'd kow of a simple trick. But it was the water pump after all.

You know us as well, you met Aidan and me for coffe in Bromley years ago to give us some tips. We have finally set off, but didn't get very far yet :p All good tough, Athens is a great place to be :)

As temp fix not really recommended as it could damage the splines but a small mole grip will do the job to keep you moving. Or you could open the locking nut ( if the arm isn't totally broken off) and thread the cable and lock it that way. It will take some trial and error to get the right tension. Do it on your main stand.

As you say you are in Athens, a solution is not far from you.

Update: Vagianelis is brilliant for BMW! Walked in with the broken parts and they found new ones in their huge stock of spares. The spares guy doesn't speak English but can find the parts just by looking at the broken one :) The rest speak English. What they didn't have, arrived next day. They have a clean workshop too so if you don't want to fix the bike yourself...
The entire area around there is full of mechanics, show rooms for any bike brand, and parts shops (just east of the Acropolis).
Also if you need ANY kind of bolt, nut, washer, etc, go to the small shop on Kallirios (street) opposite the Unionholdings building. Looking at the map its around house no 63-70. Will try post a pic of this shop if I can get it to work on my tablet.
And if you ever need a tool, just ask a small mechanics. They all buy their tools in tool shops and can direct you to the nearest one:)

OK so its no 63 :) They speak a little English. I just brought the old bolts and washers and they found everything I needed.

Also, Vagianelis charges normal London prices for parts, guess they are set by BMW. So if you just need a generic part, maybe ask one o the smaller non-brand specific mechanics.
