4 pages of loons bickering about who serviced what in the US military, who's actually seen this model of BMW and who's got the biggest ......doh
Allow me to save you wasting ten minutes of your life: There is a screen in the fuel pump assembly. BMW say it lasts the life of the bike. There are ways and means of getting it out and replacing it if BMW are wrong but it is a skilled job using special tools. You can cut into fuel lines after the pump and fit something that will protect the injectors. If you do this you can also carry a wiring kit to bypass the fuel pump controller and so may get an unhappy bike with a sick fuel pump moving. The only way to protect the fuel pump screen is to filter the petrol before it goes into the tank. Andy |
