BMW F650GS Dual Spark Headlight

Hello everyone !

Last month I broke my headlight assembly and had to buy a new one.

The problem is, that I now have to remount it correctly. My problem is simple but quite hard to explain without seeing it, but I'll try anyway...

We're looking at the link between the reflector and the black front headlight "support". I have to fix the reflector into this black piece with these white pieces :

These go into the black piece like that :

The question is, do I have to put them first into the black piece and then push the reflector into them ?

or

do I have to put them first on the top of the reflector screws (the one to set the angle of the light) and then push the reflector in ?

Not that I know anything about bmws so you may get more sense out of the dog......but having encountered the same type of fitting on some vehicle headlights and seen people brake them by trying to ram the ball bit through the clip...I would put the clip on the adjuster rod ball then carefully try and engage that in the supporting panel, can't see from the picture if the clip has to turn in the mounting part to engage or stay locked in...I would put any hammers or destructive type implements out of reach while your attempting it..good luck..
