hi guys im new here , i have geared my front sprocket down 1 tooth, and every now and then the gear number on the dash vanishes along with the nuatral light. you have to have clutch in to start it. bmw dealer dosnt know what it is,put the bigger front sprocket back on and all is good...Help very stuck cheers Antz

Changing the gears has ZERO effect on the gear indicator.

In my experience as a BMW technician, I would suggest that you check the plug on the gear sensor. If that seems okay, replace the gear sensor.

The fact that your dealer couldn't understand that is very troubling indeed.
